OPEN WATER COURSES

Course
information:The PADI Scuba Diver
course is a pre-entry level
certification, addressing a growing demand for a certification that
consumers can earn more quickly, provided the diver dives under
professional supervision. This course is designed for those with
personal time constraints and those who prefer to dive with direct
supervision. The Scuba Diver course is a sub course of the Open
Water course so divers can upgrade to full Open Water Diver at any
time in the future. PADI Scuba divers are qualified to dive to 12m
under the supervision of a PADI professional only. |
The PADI
Open Water Diver course is an entry level learn to dive course
and students gain the internationally recognized PADI Open Water
qualification. The course includes theory sessions, a minimum of
5 hours pool training (usually longer), 3 open water pier dives
and 1 boat dive. PADI Open Water divers are qualified to dive to
18m with another qualified diver, and may then enroll on the PADI
Advanced Diver course many Adventure dives and some PADI Speciality
courses.

Both courses include manual,
use of all equipment (except mask and snorkel for comfort and hygiene
reasons), and certification. We would also recommend fins and boots
for the same reasons. The shop at Divers Down is well stocked
with all basic equipment which can be purchased prior to starting
your pool training.

Cost: £380
for PADI Open Water Diver.
( includes 1 boat dive)
The PADI teaching system allows students to complete theory and pool
sessions only and then be referred elsewhere for the Open Water dives.
This is an option if students prefer to complete their training in warmer
conditions. If this is completed in 3 days the cost is £280.
N.B. Prices are based on 2 students. If
you are booking as an individual and would prefer to take advantage
of this reduced price, we always endeavour to group divers up to a maximum
of 4. However, if you would actually prefer a one to one option, the
cost would be £580.

N.B.
Whilst it is obviously our intention to complete courses at Swanage,
if due to bad weather this is not possible, we would like to reserve
the right to complete courses on time and use alternative dive sites
if necessary. If this involves using in-land sites, the boat dive will
not be possible.
