PROGRAM CONTENT.
All academic portions of the IANTD Technical Diver Student
Workbook and appropriate specific reference text materials from
the IANTD Technical Encyclopedia (not included in course materials
package), and all course specific Slides pertaining to the theory
of the course.
The program includes a minimum of 2 air
dives or EANx or normoxic trimix with an O2 content greater than
18%. Depths of these 2 dives not to exceed 39m. Although it is
only a requirement to use a single stage cylinder, it is highly
recommended that 2 stage cylinders are carried. This provides
far better redundancy for the type of diving being undertaken.
The program also includes
minimum of 2 dives on Trimix using at least 1 gas switch. These
dives must be performed at a depth between 39m and 60m. Dive computers
with gas switching capabilities are recommended but back up tables
are also required. Dives may be made on custom software generated
tables provided it is a program approved by IANTD.
The course includes a minimum of 220 minutes
of run time and a minimum of 4 dives using Air, EANx or trimix.
Students can qualify with an overall average
score of 6 points if 2 extra dives are completed.
N.B. Divers already
qualified as Technical or Cave divers or IANTD Wreck Divers, can
have the 2 air or EANx dives credited and only require the 2 Trimix
dives between 39m & 60m. Plus complete the lecture on Normoxic
Trimix in the workbook.
