AN
INTRODUCTION TO TWIN SET DIVING
Course information:
If you are thinking of going down the technical diving route
but have never used a twin set before, this is an ideal way to start.
This is a non certification course intended to familiarize divers
with the use of twin sets, either as an introduction to technical
diving techniques and equipment or as a way of safely extending
bottom times. Our aim is to provide a course using the equipment
at the depths it will be used and equip the diver with the necessary
skills and confidence to safely conduct this type of diving.
This is a 2 day course
covering , kit configurations (hose placement, use of wings, back
plates and harnesses, manifolds and accessory placement), buoyancy
checks, gas shut downs, advanced buoyancy control ( body positioning,
horizontal hovering, streamlining), gas management and dive planning
and delayed SMB deployment. |
 |
 |
Dive No. 1 is
at a max depth of 5m around Swanage Pier to familiarize students
with the new kit and then practice skills in shallow water.
Dive No.2 is conducted from a boat at a maximum depth
of 14m.The skills are again practiced at this depth along with
an ascent from depth.
|
The concluding
Dive No.3 is conducted at a minimum depth of 24m and maximum
30m. Skills are again repeated prior to a guided dive around a suitable
wreck, concluding with bag deployment and ascent from depth.
No attempt is made to have large class numbers and our ideal class
size would be 2 students with an instructor and divemaster.
One to one classes are always welcome as we try to customize our
courses to suit your individual needs. For this reason we would
advise students to use their own equipment. |
