PREREQUISITES.
Must be qualified as an Open Water Diver.
Must be a minimum of 15 years of age with a parent or guardian
authorization, or a minimum of 12 years of age for junior Diver
qualification, or a minimum of 18 years of age without guardian
approval.
PROGRAM CONTENT.
This is a 2 day course. Day 1 is spent
completing lectures pertaining to the theory found in the IANTD
/ TDI EANx Diver Student Manual. This covers all EANx mixes from
21% to a maximum of 40% oxygen but emphasizes the use of EANx32
and EANx 36.
The 2 dives are instructor led and supervised but no in water
skills take place other than DSMB deployment and bail out skills.
Although aimed at divers using single cylinders in a no decompression
environment, divers wishing to combine this course with an Introduction
to Twin Set Diving could do so provided they meet the necessary
prerequisites as regards number of dives and experience.
EQUIPMENT.
Dry suits recommended (semi-dry suits only
suitable in the summer), mask, fins,
Weight belt
Regulator with Alternate 2nd stage (minimum), twin take offs recommended
or Pony cylinder.
Dive timer / Nitrox Computer
BCD or wing if Twin set diving
Knife or Cutting tool.
Slate.
DSMB and reel with 50m line.
All equipment is available for hire at competitive rates if required.

IANTD
ADVANCED NITROX DIVER: £350.00,
3 Days
OR TDI ADVANCED NITROX & DECO PROCEDURES COURSE: £450.00.
4 Days
Both these popular
entry level courses aim to introduce skills and procedures
required throughout technical dive training, with each course
building on previously learned skills. Divers are expected
to perform these skills with increased mastery as they progress. |
PURPOSE.
The purpose of either
course is to introduce the use of twin sets and stage cylinders
for decompression dives in the 40m range. Gases used are are up
to EANx 40% in the twin sets (back gas) and up to 50% in the stage
cylinder or up to 100% if taking the TDI route.
PREREQUISITES.
Must be qualified to
Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent and EANx Diver
Provide proof of a minimum of 15 logged dives.
Must be a minimum of 15 years of age with a parent or guardian
authorization, or a minimum of 18 years of age without approval.
Although not a requirement students will benefit more during this
course if they already have experience diving with a twin set
and carrying a stage cylinder. ( See our Introduction
to Twin Set Diving courses.)
PROGRAM CONTENT.
One day of theory is followed by a confined
water skills session and then 2 or 3 days of diving, making between
4 & 6 dives to a maximum depth of 40m.
( We normally dive on wrecks in the 35m
range on course.) We would strongly recommend you take the IANTD
Advanced Recreational Trimix Course (see below) if you plan to
make regular dives in the 35m-50m range.
Skills taught and
practiced:
Gas shut downs
Gas sharing ascent
Stage cylinder removal and replacement
DSMB deployment
Deco gas switching
Swim techniques
EQUIPMENT.
Manifolded twin set
in O2 service
7 Litre stage in O2 service
Primary and secondary regulators for the twin set (primary with
a long hose 1.5 or 2 m)
Stage regulator in O2 service
2 timing devices / nitrox computers
50m reel and DSMB or lift bag.
Wing style BCD ( conventional BCD's are not recommended.)
N.B. This course is
really not suitable for single cylinders. For redundancy and safety
whilst diving to these depths a manifolded twin set is by far
the best option. The gas duration of a single cylinder would probably
not allow decompression diving.
IANTD
ADVANCED RECREATIONAL TRIMIX DIVER: £499.00. 4 DAYS.
This course covers everything
the IANTD Advanced Nitrox and TDI Advanced Nitrox &
Deco Procedures course involves but with the use of Trimix.
PURPOSE.
This course is
available for divers diving in the 30-50m range where air
would usually be used but in order to reduce the effects
of narcosis, weak Trimix mixes can be used. This promotes
the IANTD philosophy of using the best gas for the depth
of the dive.
PREREQUISITES.
Must be qualified
as an IANTD Recreational Trimix Diver or Nitrox Diver and
IANTD Deep Diver with proof of a minimum of 30 logged dives
or sufficient experience to satisfy the instructor that
the student has the ability and knowledge to continue into
this level of training.
Must be a minimum of 15 years of age with a parent or guardian
authorization, or a minimum of 18 years of age without approval. |

PROGRAM CONTENT.
Day one is spent covering the theory as outlined in the IANTD
Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver Manual.
This program must include a minimum of 120 minutes of OW bottom
time completed within 4 dives, 2 of which must be made to depths
between 30m and 48m. All dives deeper than 24m must be made on
Recreational Trimix mixtures. eg 30 / 25
Students are taught the use of Recreational Trimix mixtures from
28% to a maximum of 40% oxygen and with the helium content having
an END no greater than 24m for diving. EANx mixtures of 1.5 PO2
oxygen should be used for safety on decompression stops.
Mandatory decompression stops are limited to a maximum of 15 minutes.
Skills taught and practiced:
Gas shut downs
Gas sharing ascent
Stage cylinder removal and replacement
DSMB deployment
Deco gas switching
Swim techniques
Remove and replace tanks and BCD at a depth greater than 6m
Remove and replace tanks and BCD at surface.
If entering the program based on previous experience, complete
the IANTD Deep Diver water skills.

a long hose 1.5 or 2 m)

2 timing devices / nitrox computers
50m reel and DSMB or lift bag.
Wing style BCD as conventional BCD's are not recommended.
